South Carolina travel really didn't strike me as anything exciting when I first arrived here. Boy, was I wrong.
SC has some of the most wonderful roads for road trips! Try taking Hwy 11 through Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway. There's really great roadside stops to take advantage of.
Glassy Mountain has incredible views. But is close to the Greenville/Spartanburg area.
Paris Mountain is a small park but large with beauty. Great hiking trails, picnic areas and never overly crowded.
If you get down into the low country, be sure and check out historical charleston. I wouldn't miss a walk down the battery!
