Default What to Do in Indiana

For those of us who are less knowledgeable about this beautiful state, what do you recommend are the best attractions for members interested in taking their families here on vacation? What are the best parks, historical sites, destinations, hotels, cultural events, outdoor spots, events, entertainment and other attractions?

Well.... I don't know about this being a big vacation spot or anything but....

Brown County gets alot of visitors in the fall because its so beautiful (trees and nature ),

Up here in northeastern Indiana there is a buffalo farm that has its annual Calf Days, people go on rides out into where the buffalo are and get to feed them, you get buffalo burgers to eat etc.

Shipshewana is big too... it has the amish, huge flea markets, lots of shopping etc.

The Indiana San Dunes are popular too....

Indiana Beach (i've never been) is kind of the like boardwalk I guess....

The Indiana Fairs with concerts and stuff are fun...

I don't know if its a great vacation spot but I know its a great place to have a family and raise kids

I also love the covered bridge festivals! Those are great if your into that kind of thing! Brown County is Beautiful especially in the fall! The state fair can be fun also! Mounds state park is a nice place to take your family. Turkey Run is also another nice place to visit or camp! My dh and I love to go camping!

Festivals are wonderful! I remember going to covered bridges festivals when I was a kid!
I live near a small town in Northern Indiana and if you want to bring your kids to a fairly inexpensive festival, come to Kewanna Indiana the last weekend in Sep!!! There are free carnival rides, free petting zoo, live music, singing ventriloquist, parade, and lots more!!! Going to be a lot of fun! My family is sure going! Heard nothing but great things about it!!! We went last year and had a great time! Didn't spend very much money either!!!
