Default Sacramento area groceries

Hi I'm visiting from SoCal land of double coupons, surplus bakeries and (lately) great manager markdowns @ Ralphs. I'm staying for about a week, it's a house rule that the only entrees allowed are frozen dinners. I've been eating oatmeal and tea for breakfast, PBJ and bananas or apples for lunch. Basically the house rule is: we don't eat out, we don't mess up the kitchen with any major cooking. If there were a Food4Less or double coupon store, I'd try and use the coupons from the Sunday paper. I'm already using Competing sites removed by admin
I'd appreciate any hints and tips from locals how you keep your grocery bill as low as possible. I didn't realize how much I saved with double coupons, and how expensive it is to eat under the hosts' rules!
Thanks very much! I'm sure any newcomer would appreciate a heads up on the stores that give you the best bang for your buck. Other than this challenge, I've been enjoying it very much here!
