There's a new site called www.FamiliesAboutTown.com that provides lots of easy-to-use information about family- and kid-friendly events, activities, and resources around town. It's currently focused in the Baltimore/Annapolis area, but there are plans to expand coverage to the DC metro area as well.

It's got:

- tons of local family calendar events, which can be customized in a click (sort for your kids ages, your location, your budget, your favorite types of activities, indoor/outdoor, keyword search...)

-- interactive features to instantly add single or multiple events to your personal calendars, email them, text them, get email reminders, etc.

-- local family resources (think yellow pages with a focus on local families)

-- weekly newsletters with reminders about upcoming events

-- listings of family-focused deals/bargains

-- headliner events (big-name performances)
