Concord
I currently live near Concord, and if you are visiting there, you have to go to the Colonial Inn. Concord is full of history, as is this restaurant and inn, and it is located in Concord's downtown. Last time I went, I had the squash ravioli, which was amazing. Concord is home to Walden Pond, Orchard House (the home of Louisa May Alcott), and was the site of many important American Revolution events. It was also where Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson called home. A great place to visit, especially if your children are learning about any of these topics in school.
Nearby is another historic restaurant/inn: The Wayside Inn in Sudbury. Some of you may have heard of Longellow's Tales of a Wayside Inn, and this place is full of history. I recommend going on Sunday night. It is busy, but they have a great Sunday Special that lets you choose from a variety of first courses, main entrees, and desserts, for just $18.95.
